So, this weekend I babysit Lily Warnock for a little bit and we watched Cars, made funny faces, and made cookies out of Play-Do! She is super adorable and so fun to babysit! Love you, Lils!

My Uncle Steve got married this weekend to Becky Taylor in the Salt Lake temple. It was so fun to go and see them and to see all of our family that got to come!

Funny Story

So, our ward talent show is tonight at a nearby nursing home. I wanted to play through my song (I'm playing piano) a couple of times this afternoon, just to practice. Well, I headed to the HFAC to find a practice room, and (of course) there were none open because, unbeknownst to me, today is the day for auditions for the School of Music. I was mad because all the other classrooms with pianos in them all over campus are locked cuz it's Saturday. So I headed over to the student center and, luckily, the piano in the Terrace was free. So I was practicing, and it sounded pretty dang good. haha :) Well, this cute old man came up to me while I was playing, laid a couple of dollars on the piano, and thanked me for "serenading" them. I had no idea what to do. It was really funny! :)

This Book was SOOOOOOOO Good!

The Book of Story Beginnings by Kristin Kladstrup

This book was so so so so so so wonderful! I absolutely loved it. It's a children's novel (which are always the best!) and it starts out with a twelve or thirteen year old boy in the 1800s, Oscar. He finds this book in a locked trunk in the attic, and, because he is a writer, starts several stories in them. One night, he begins a story about a boy who lived in Iowa (him) who looks out his window and sees an ocean. Then he looks out his window and sees one! He gets on a boat and rows away, never to be seen again. Then, over 100 years later, one of his sister's descendants and her parents come to live in Oscar's old house. Lucy is curious about what happened to her great-uncle Oscar, and finds this mysterious Book of Story Beginnings in the bow of an old rowboat. She proceeds to start a story in it, Oscar comes back, and they are transported to this magical world of these stories. They will have to rescue her father (who has been changed into a crow), save a group of orphans, and get themselves out of a kingdom full of cats! It is an amazing book, and I would most definitely recommend it!

I'm a little slow on the uptake. . .

So, I know that Christmas break was like an entire month ago, but I have been so busy that I haven't had time to post some pictures! It was so nice to get away from Provo for a while and to get to spend time with my family and the family that I nanny for.

I love my sisters! :)

Grandpa Nichols gave us an awesome "A Christmas Story" version of Monopoly for Christmas, and let me tell you, it was Michala's FAVORITE present! I must've played that game more times over the break than I have in my entire life!

. . .and of course she figured out the Park Place/Boardwalk (or in this case BB Gun/Leg Lamp!) secret. . .and won. a lot. but I'm not bitter or anything.

We got to decorate gingerbread cookies and I made Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. :)

On the day before I came back to Utah, I went to Dallas to visit the family that I nanny for, the Oldroyds. It was such a fun day! I love those kids so much!!
